Westmoreland County Queen’s Council
Meeting of April 19, 2009
Held at the Lamplighter Restaurant
38 in attendance
Ruth Paul was our hostess for the meeting.
Queen Rosalie Blehar opened the meeting with the Red Hat pledge and song. Ruth Paul read a poem by Sue Ellen Cooper, “Ode to the Red Hat Society”.
The Queens introduced themselves and there was a moment of silence for our sister Glenda Plummer. A list of upcoming events was discussed. There was an error on the copy sent to Queens. The date for Luau should be May 3rd and is now sold out.
Rosalie discussed the surveys that were returned and it was suggested that we would try a Saturday Queen’s meeting . Our next meeting will be with Hell’s Belles on Sunday,June 14th. It will be held at Charlie O’s on thingyscomb Rd in New Kensington at 1pm.
We are looking into having our August meeting at Redstone Manor on a Saturday afternoon.
The survey also suggested that we have more consideration for others during the meeting so all can hear. Rosalie also requested that we be prompt with our reservations for all events.
Betty Duran announced that on July 12th she will be hosting a pontoon boat trip that will stop for lunch. Cost will be $15 to $20. More details to follow. At this time it is open to Queens & Vice-Queens only.
Margie Staigvil spoke about the Luau seating and Queens envelope to be distributed that day.
Geri told us about someone who makes homemade purses. You can look on line at thebigladiesedl.com . They run from $35-$70.
Weezie Moore suggested that all the Queens be in a directory with their picture on the Queen to Queen website and Margie offered to set that up. More info to come. We closed after a wonderful lunch.
